day 7: contemplating whether we should go see macau, sure why not? it was a couple days before keith leaves and with profits compareable to las vegas, macau is to be the upcoming gambling city of the world. we woke up early morning and took the metro to Ocean Terminal. i dont know why macau could be only reached by ferry, but all i know is that i get seasick easily. well, it was only an hour ride and couple hundred HK dollars. compared to other ferrys, this ferry was pretty stable with the interior resembling a wide commercial airplane. the trip only took 1 hour and i survived the journey. upon exiting the terminal, i was clueless on where to go and what to do. we did write down a list of things to see but we did not know how to get there. outside at the bus station, we decided to just take the bus to the most popular tourist area: senado square. luckily, senado square was adjacent to all the famous attractions. senado square resembled Venice italy with the numerous arches and columns. its architecture was brought here by the portuguese/spaniards back in who knows when. walking past the square took us to a hill where the famous ruins of st. paul stood. its more of a "front facade" than a ruin. it was said that st. pauls cathedral was demolished by a fire by opposing christian movement. blah i dunno. next to st paul is the Fort that was built back in the 1600's to protect macau from invaders. i read that the fort only fired 1 cannon ball in its whole time it was active. i found out that during the day that the invaders came, the 1 cannonball that was shot landed directly at the ammunition storage of the invaders which scared the shit out of the attackers. so they fled.

ok enough with the history sightseeing stuff. keith and i sorta half assed our way through macau because we wanted to comeback to hong kong before the bathing ape store closed. but you will see later that we didnt make it. we walked back town into civilization and onto the casinos we go. i was curious to see how the macau casinos were, so if we were to see a casino, it would be the Wynn casino since it was the newest one built. walking through intense smog and traffic, it was impossible not to get lung cancer. visibility was like 1 mile. as we got to wynn, my first impression of it was like a half-assed vegas wynn casino with a shitty fountain that spat out small streams of water. gay. walking in the casino, i was impressed by the identical style it had, but one thing, it was quiet. with mostly smelly chinamen, these gamblers looked ruthless and unappealing to gamble with, so i stayed away. but i do know for a fact that they have deep pockets. like other macau casinos, there was a lack of slot machines. gay. so far, macau has not won me over, but lets see if the food does. if you travel, you are bound to get food poisoning sometime, so might as well stay within commercialized food places such as shopping malls, chain food stores, and casinos. the wynn chinese restaurant was our pick. the food was ok. but like every hungry person, your judgement becomes innaccurate as I inhale the food down. DAMN it was now 6pm and in 1 hour, the BAPE store closes! do the math 6pm + 1 hour boat ride = 7pm = BAPE CLOSED FOR THE NIGHT! DIU!

Day 8: Like i promised, i had to take out Annie today. but she was not my priority. keith and i decided that our priority of the day was to go to the Bathing Ape store and buy 1 thing. Since there are only 4 locations in the whole world, why not? SO off we go to the bathing ape store. we had to meet Annie at Causeway bay times square at 2pm and we go to the BAPe store at around 1:30pm. we stayed there till 2:30pm due to indecisiveness whether to fork out the bills or not. its like asking yourself would you buy a fruity-looking rainbow shirt for $$$?..............why the hell not? so we did. i learned a lot about the BAPE store. the workers told us that each saturday morning, the store is re-stocked with new, but limited amounts of clothing and outside, the line of people wraps around the store. oops so its now 2:45pm and i have still not called annie that we are late. we dash to the MTR and get to causeway bay. she is not there. keith and i kick back underneath the huge TV screen and just observe the masses of people walking by. sometimes it is pretty cool to just watch people and i can do this all day and night. we wait till 3:30 and now she finally decides to come. its nice of her to bring us a box of cookies from hong kong's most famous cookie store out in the new territories. she said she wanted to go to stanley market and growing up in hong kong, you would think she would know the way. she didnt. so it took her half an hour just to find the bus stop to get there. the bus ride was hell because the driver seemed to like the tourqiness of 2nd gear so he stayed on it through the ride up the hilly route. i was about to hurl on myself. once we got to stanley market, again, she did not know what to do. so i had to use my brain for once and remember what i did a year ago. i showed them where the lucky well was, where the rocks were, and the flea market. thats pretty much all of stanley beach so we decided to take a taxi ride back to causeway bay to avoid throwing up. although the ride was a little better, this taxi driver had touretts on his foot where he would love to give the car erratic spurts of gas. whats wrong with hong kong drivers??? shit. taking the MTR back to kowloon tong, i took a deep breath as we exited the subway. im glad to be back home, Festival Walk. you can do everything there from watching a movie to ice skating, and movie was our next choice. Annie kept on saying she wanted to watch the Holiday so why not? she is young and barely out of highschool. girls at this age like the lovey dovey shit. surprisingly, festival walk hosted AMC theatres in the building and different from AMC in the states, you can pick your own seats before entering the theater. i wanted to direct her attention to keith, so i bought popcorn and a drink and let her sit in the middle between keith and I. As many of you know i rarely eat junk food and especially soda, i let the 2 share them. how sweet am i? the movie was typical and we said our goodbyes and she took off. too bad. just too young. i have a feeling that my mom told my uncle to try to introduce me to girls in hong kong. although he is doing a good job, none suits me.
