just came back from ibiza and i miss it already. ive never actually been clubbing before and ibiza has given me a new perspective on clubs. it was weird getting ready to go to a club at 2:30 in the morning. from our hotel, you can see this beam of light about 10 miles away that changes color in the horizon meaning the club is open and alive. at the first club called privilege, it is the biggest club in the world. capacity is 12000 people. clubs range from 25-45 euros to get in and drinks are soo expensive. for example, a bottle of 8oz water costs 10 euros, which is about 12 US dollars. you can imagine how expensive alcohol is. when i first got inside i see beautiful people everywhere. in europe no one cares how you look or how you dance, the more you make a fool outta yourself the more repected you are. guys dance in a group which is a normal scene. i begin to notice the differences of how europeans dance compared to the states and i just got into it and learned from the best. ive never actually danced at a club before, so i found myself a group of italian girls and danced straight for 2 hours.
when you have the chance to go to ibiza, listen to what the locals have to say about which club to go to. take their advice. it was a sunday night and we wanted to go to a foam party. it wasnt the club we were advised to go, but we just wanted to see how it was to go to a foam party. that club is called Amnesia and truely it wasnt the club to go to on that night. my camera broke because of the foam and i almost choked to death in 6 feet of foam. but it was an original experience where once is enough.
the next night we went back to privilege and we took that night to a new level. we got to the club at 3am and i started right into the dancing. i found the same italian girl from the other night and started to dance with her. this girl was very attractive. i dont know what it is but italian chicks with natural jet black hair and big ass sunglasses are the best. i danced with her for about 4 hours and some lip locking occurred when her boyfriend went to the bathroom. at about 7am, her boyfriend dragged her away and that was the last i saw of her.
in ibiza sleep doesnt exist. a typical day is like this: at day time, you go lay in the beach and watch women walk around topless. you go play in the water and just relax and watch the famous sunset. from what i heard watching wild on E!, the sunset marks the start of endless partying to come. after the beach you go back to your hotel, shower, walk the town and have dinner. then anytime after midnight, you head to the clubs. clubs open from 11pm-8am and you dance and drink the night away. at 8am, you have an option to take a bus to another club which opens at 8am or go back to your hotel just to get couple hours of shut eye before hitting the beach again. this repeats everynight.
so it finally ends. i wish it was longer. everyday seemed to pass faster and faster. i can still picture myself walking the streets of amsterdam a month ago. after $7000, i have bought myself unforgettable memories, alliance with a crew of 14 italians, and ive learned how to be eurotrash. it was well worth it. my journal is 90% filled up with valuable stories ill read to my kids one day. ive already got eurotrip '05 planned and cant wait till it comes.
absinthe anyone? US customs dont exist.
ciao.
